Welcome to our Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten Program

Rising Stars Preschool / Pre-Kindergarten programs (3 years - 6 years) provide an environment that incorporates play, as well as an enhanced learning atmosphere to prepare them for the transition into a more traditional form of learning.  We believe children should have fun!  After all, even the experts agree that preschool age children learn most through play.

 

Many activities that you see in the classroom may look like “Play” however they have an educational purpose behind them.  A few examples of this would be, building math skills by patterning different materials by shape, size, and color as well as developing early reading skills by sequencing an activity in stages from left to right.

We will also be incorporating Montessori “Works” into the classroom.  These “works” are specifically created for practical and often daily activities, which include the refinement of fine and gross motor skills.

Preschool / Pre-Kindergarten Schedule

 

 

Meal Times
Rising Stars meal times are in a family style setting.  We all (including teachers) sit together at the table to encourage the value of good eating habits, table manners and sharing their experiences of the day with each other.

 

 


Nap Time
All children are required to have a nap/rest period.  No child is forced to sleep, however they must remain quiet with quiet activities.  Every child is provided with a nap mat that is sanitized after nap.

 

 


Outside Time
The children are provided with two, half hour recess times, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  We have a basketball court, grassy area for running, and a play structure for their use.
